Steven discovered at an early age that he had an aptitude and joy for the creative process. In the beginning, his attention focused mostly on drawing and painting, but later expanded to include mixed media and assemblages. He has continued to explore more effective ways to communicate visually by examining the laws of nature and how they affect our perception.

Steven pursued his art career in Lafayette, LA as a fine art painter, illustrator & graphic designer until moving to Donaldsonville, LA in 2004 where Schneider and his wife, Cynthia, owned and operated Schneider Art Gallery and Grapevine Café & Gallery.

The couple moved to Goshen, AR in 2014 where Steven, influenced by the beauty and purity of the Ozark wilderness, continued to develop his expressive style.

To be closer to family and reconnect with their southern roots, in July 2023, The Schneiders relocated to their new home in Tupelo, MS where they currently reside and continue to create.

Steven’s work is held in numerous public and private collections, including George’s Inc., Springdale, AR, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Lafayette, LA, Womans and Childrens Hospital, Baton Rouge, LA and Belle Alliance Plantation, Belle Rose, LA

His work can be viewed and purchased from Oxford Treehouse Gallery, Oxford, MS : Fischer Galleries in Ridgeland, MS: Justus Fine Art, Hot Springs, AR and Greg Thompson Fine Art in Little Rock, AR.
